Keramikku is a small, passionate studio run by ceramic artist Mette Rørsted, who creates unique stoneware pieces in her workshop in Copenhagen.

Mette trained as an architect at the Aarhus School of Architecture, but her journey into ceramics began unexpectedly during a stay in the United States. She quickly became captivated by the material’s living, ever-changing nature and its endless creative possibilities.

Since then, she has immersed herself in ceramics through courses at the Aarhus Art Academy with Helle Hansen, and modelling studies with Jeanette Brøndsted. Today, her work is driven by a curiosity for the imperfect, allowing form, texture, and expression to evolve freely throughout the creative process.

From her workshop on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, Mette creates both functional stoneware pieces, such as pots, platters, and vases and more sculptural works.

Her current practice includes figures of horses and elephants, as well as masks inspired by personal experiences and contemporary narratives. She also develops her distinctive “Perlite Humans”series: small sculptural figures that explore the lightness and unique texture of the material.
